Creating a Progress Note

In a resident-centric conversation, you can Create a Progress Note from the mobile app to make an entry into the resident’s chart. When completed it is saved to the Progress Notes tab of the resident chart in the web application.

  1. From an active resident centric conversation tap the ‘…’

  2. Select Create Progress Note.

  3. Select a Progress Note Type.

  4. Select to include a MD/Nurse Notification if applicable.

  5. Select to add Attachments (photos) to your progress note.

    • Select the photo(s) to attach to the note.

    • Enter the Description of the photo attachment(s).

    • # of photos appears if photos are attached.

  6. Type your Note.

  7. Enter your password if configured. Touch OK. You see a message that the Progress Note was Successfully Created and is now in the resident chart. Touch OK.

  • Depending on your configuration settings, the Progress Note Type and Note fields may be auto-populated for you.

  • If the MD/Nurse Notification toggle is selected, this progress note flows to the MD/Nursing Communication report from the web application.

  • Attached photos must be smaller than 5MB in size and are viewable from the Progress note in the web application as well as the Misc tab of the resident chart with a category of ‘Progress Note’.

  • You can also End a conversation and select to End and Create a Progress note.

  • If Draft notes are available, when touching to Save the note, you see can save or save as draft.

  • You must have appropriate security permission to create a progress note from a conversation.

    • Clinical module > Clinical Tabs (parent) > Progress Notes = Read/Add or higher

    • Home module > Secure Conversations (parent) > Edit Progress Notes = Yes

  • You must have appropriate security permissions to attach photo(s) to a progress note.

    • Clinical module > Misc (parent) = Read/Add or higher

    • Home module > Secure Conversations (parent) > Include Photos = Read/Add or higher
