Managing Service Package Rates

PointClickCare recommends verifying service package rates at the community to ensure accuracy. You can change rates and charge descriptions for Service Levels and Points type Service Package categories. You can change Units for Points type categories.

If rates change for the service levels or Points based charges in Service Package Categories, you must create a new rate line with a new effective date.

Note

  • You must activate service package categories in the community before verifying and applying rates. For more information, see Setting Up Service Package Management Quick Reference Guide

  • Rate(s) are not updated for residents with a custom rate. To change custom rates, in the Residents Service Package Tab, edit the Service Package. For more information, see Edit a Service Package for a Resident

  • For Points Service Packages, rate updates affect only the charge code amount in the Service Package. Rate updates do not affect the amount in Charge/Adjustments Codes setup.

  • If you edit rates in an applied rate line, resident's service packages are updated. Depending on the timing of your changes, reversals and re-billing appear on residents' accounts for the updated rates.

  1.  Billing: Setup > Service Package Categories

  2. To create a new date range, next to the Category Name, click rates.

    1. Select Start Date.

  3. To edit rates or descriptions, next to the Effective Date, click edit rates.

    1. Confirm the action.

Note

Rates only affect residents accounts after you apply the rates in Resident Rate Updates.

  • If you know the date rates are no longer effective, you can edit the most recent date range and type an End Date.  However, this is not required. If you apply a rate line, the Ineffective Date for the previous rate line is automatically completed with the day before the new rates are effective.

  • To see all service package categories and all the associated service levels on the service package categories screen, expand the Service Package Categories list.

  • To see service level details and services included, click view

  • You can delete a date range if it is not in use in a Service Package.

  • You can delete a Service Package Category if it is not active.
