Resident Identifiers

Resident Identifiers are similar to OHIP cards, Social Insurance cards, or Veteran's Affairs cards. Each of these numbers has an expected display, or formatted layout for presentation. e.g NNN-NNN-NNN  what we expect for a Social Insurance Number.

You can format the visual display of Resident Identifiers, define where this information is collected, and where it gets reported to on this screen during the set up.

  1. Access the Access Module.

  2. Depending on your security access, you can see Set Up from the menu items. If you see this option, click Setup. If you do not see this option, you do not have security access to perform set up functions. See your Security Administrator.

  3. You see the setup options of the Admin Module. Open Organization Setup. You see areas that must be completed, whether or not you are Financial or Clinical community. e.g. several of the selections are part of the initial creation of your beds and rooms, which must be present before residents can be admitted.

  4. Select Resident Identifiers to access this area,

  5. Several delivered examples appear. You can add more Resident Identifiers if required.

  • The Resident Identifier option is only required when you define it as mandatory.

  • Use the legend on the screen as a guide to build a layout for new definitions. The layout matches your requirements, showing the optional numeric or alpha characters used.

  • The layout you build is used when supplying content to these fields during Admission. If you specify that the SIN is expected to be "NNN NNN NNN", then nine numeric characters MUST be supplied upon entry, or an error message results.

  • You must have a security role with appropriate rights to see Set Up on your menu. If you do not see Set Up on your menu, you do not have access to it. See your Security Administrator. The delivered Admin Setup role provides this access.
