Resident EFT Setup Overview

You can set up or enable residents for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for retrieval of payment electronically in their A/R Profile. Retrieving money electronically for payment improves revenue cycle and days outstanding, as well as improves Operational Efficiency gained by electronic payment posting versus manual payment posting. 

Timing schedules assigned to the resident automates the creation of EFT cash batches to be generated on specified dates or EFT cash batches can be created manually (No Schedule) and applied to their account in PointClickCare.

Options include generating the EFT cash batch based on the resident’s current A/R balance, balance on last statement, or balance on last statement less payments. Residents can specify a maximum amount to be withdrawn from their financial account(s) or no limit. 

Up to 3 bank accounts can be entered for a resident with distribution options for each account to be either a percentage, up to amount, or remaining amount.

You can disable an enabled EFT for a resident if the resident decides they no longer want EFT funds withdrawn from their account(s). No funds can be withdrawn from the account(s) while the EFT is disabled. The information remains if resident decides to participate in EFT at a later date and the EFT is enabled again. 

An Audit History is available to review and print an audit history of all changes made to a resident’s EFT Setup.
