Enabling Clinical Order Review

You can set up specific medications or therapeutic classes of medications to require review by staff before the order becomes active and is sent to pharmacy.

When a new order that is set up to require a clinical order review, is added to a resident's chart, a label reading 'Medication Review Required' appears below the medication field and a Clinical Order Review box appears below the Order Summary with the review notes for that medication.

Note

After Clinical Order Review is enabled, it can be disabled. If there are medications still requiring review, a message appears on the configuration screen with the number of orders that must still be reviewed before Clinical Order Review can be disabled.

  1. Facility Clinical Setup > Order Configuration > Enable Clinical Order Review.

  2. Select Yes.

  • After the feature is enabled the Clinical Review Library link appears at both the facility and Management Console levels.
