Mapping Department Positions

You can define the relationship between departments and positions. Department and positions are used in many parts of PointClickCare for user information. When you create users, you can select a Department and associate the position for the user. For example, you have a department named Administration. You already have the positions of Administrator, Director of Operations, and Administrative Assistant assigned to Administration. Under Unassigned Positions you need to map Security and Chief Financial Officer to Administration. 

Department positions appear by:

  • Department positions mapped to the department selected in the Department list.

  • Unassigned positions not yet mapped to a department.

  • Assigned positions mapped to another department.

A Position can be assigned to only one Department.

Note

You must complete Departments and Staff Positions Pick Lists before you can map the departments to staff.

You only can map Departments and Positions at the facility.

  1. Admin > Setup > Department/Positions.

  2. To assign positions, select Department.

  3. Select Positions to assign to Department.
