Managing Risk Management Pick Lists

This screen contains configuration settings for Risk Management Pick Lists.

  1. Clinical > Setup > Pick Lists.

  2. Click Pick List item to view complete list.

  • Injury - Identifies the type of injury sustained. Injuries can be recorded in the Incident Record at the time of the incident or recorded as they are uncovered after the incident. This is a pick one at a time list however, more than one injury can be added to an Incident Record.

  • Level of Consciousness - Identifies the resident's responsiveness to the staff at the time of the incident. This is a pick only one list.

  • Location of Incident - Identifies where the incident occurred. You can customize the list of areas based on your facility.

  • Location of Injury - This list mirrors the existing Body Diagram within PointClickCare. It describes where the injury occurred on the body. Only one location of injury can be associated with each type of injury.

  • Mental Status - Identifies if the resident can repeat the incident and establish whether they are a reliable witness to the circumstances around the incident. This is a multi-select list and more than one option is possible.

  • Mobility - Identifies how the resident usually moves around the facility. This is a pick only one list.

  • Person/Agency - Identifies the people that must be contacted when an incident occurs. This can include internal staff, family members or external agencies.

  • Predisposing Factors (Environmental) - Identifies factors that can contribute or must be considered when reviewing the reasons for the incident. The Environmental factors are the immediate surroundings that have an impact on the incident.

  • Predisposing Factors (Physiological) - Identifies changes in the resident's health or usual health issues that have an impact on the incident. These can be new or long standing concerns.

  • Predisposing Factors (Situational) - Identifies activities or events that can impact the resident's behavior, their reaction to an incident or caused the incident.

  • Relation - Identifies the relationship of witnesses of the incident to the resident. When Staff is selected as a witness to an incident, a list of PointClickCare users display. An Ancillary Staff option can be added for staff without PointClickCare access if necessary.

  • Type/Nature of Incident - Identifies the type of incident. You can trigger Care Plan items (goals, focuses, interventions), Task and/or UDA scheduling based on the type of incident. For example, the incident type can be an Witnessed Fall and based on this type of incident, a Care Plan item, a Task, a Post-Fall Follow-up Assessment and/or a Fall Risk Assessment can all be triggered. More than one trigger can be selected from each category.
