MDS 2.0 Errors and Warnings

In MDS 2.0 assessment records, you can apply different logic rules. You can warn an assessor that the answer given to a question may require correction, or encourage an assessor to review for accuracy. Errors and warnings are created based on the logic rules put in place in MDS configuration. You generate errors and warnings when you save the MDS record. If generated, errors and warnings are visible from within the MDS section, and the MDS section listing screen.

  • Errors - Must be corrected/addressed because the question response is incorrect. If the question response is not corrected, you cannot complete the section of the MDS.

  • Warnings - Can either be acknowledged if the question response is accurate, or the assessor can return to the question to change the response given. Both of these options clear the warning message.

After errors and warnings are resolved, you can successfully save and/or sign the section of the MDS record.

  1. From an MDS record section where an error or warning is generated, click to View Errors.

  2. View the Errors and/or Warnings generated from question responses.

  3. Correct the question generating the error.

  4. Navigate to the question generating the warning and decide if the response is:

    • Correct - click View Errors, and select the Warning, and click Acknowledge Warning.

    • Incorrect - correct the question response.

  5. Save the MDS section and ensure no further errors or warning are generated.

  • You can click View Errors from the MDS Section Listing to view and manage all errors and warnings generated in the MDS record.

  • You can click Errors from the MDS Section Listing for an individual MDS section to view and manage all errors and warnings generated in that section of the MDS record.

  • You must have security permissions to access MDS records.
