Census for Clinical Only - Update Census Entries Overview

In an organization using PointClickCare Clinical modules only, you still need to track resident's movements in, out, and within the facility. This allows you to maintain accurate records that impact the Clinical modules such as available beds, current payer types, and so on.

You can create incomplete census entries using Quick ADT (Admission Discharge Transfer). Using Quick ADT, you can track residents census changes at the time they occur even if that is when the census management personnel are not available to complete census entries (evenings, weekends, and holidays). These Incomplete Census entries must be reviewed and recorded as "permanent" in a Clinical Only facility by the designated person who manages all resident census items (could be business office, administration or nursing personnel).

A census entry is typically created to record any change in status of the resident. The census entry also records the location of the resident and the related action code. A census report includes the status and other changes of residents through a given date range.

After the census entry is updated and saved, the entry becomes complete and the resident name no longer appears on the Admin Dashboard under Incomplete Census.
