Managing the Clinical Order Review Library

After enabling Clinical Order Reviews, you can add medications or therapeutic classes of medications, that require review, into the Clinical Order Review Library. Adding medications or classes of medication to the library allows for orders entered to be flagged for review by another person. For example, you can select all anti-psychotics to be flagged for review to ensure a signed consent is completed before the order is active.

When you first access the library, it is empty.

Note

Clinical Order Review must be enabled at the facility level before you can see the Clinical Order Review Library.

Note

After retiring a medication or therapeutic class, it cannot be reactivated.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • Single facility: Clinical > Setup > Clinical Order Review Library.

    • Multi-facility: Management Console > Standards > Care Management > Clinical Order Review Library.

  • Ensure to select all facilities you want the item used in. If you have not enabled Clinical Order Review in that facility the item does not require review until you enable in that facility. This prevents the need to go back and add facilities to each item as you enable them.

  • Notes are for comments about what should be reviewed before the order becomes active on the resident's chart.
