Managing Review Dates for Care Plans

After a Care Plan review is complete, the next review date is determined by the Care Plan configuration in your facility. The Care Plan configuration is set according to the time interval between the reviews. 

Warning

Only certain users should be responsible for changing the Care Plan Review dates within your facility.

Note

After the review is complete, all Care Plan goal target dates are reset to the Next Review Date, unless the goal is due before the review date.

  1. Clinical > Resident > Care Plan.

  2. To manually edit the Care Plan review dates, click the Next Review Date link.

    • When signing completion of an MDS, if the next review date is more than 7 days from the completion date, you are asked if you want to update the next Care Plan review date. If you click OK, the next Care Plan review date is set 7 days from the completion date.

    • If a review is scheduled in the next 7 days or if a review is already in progress, the Care Plan review date remains unchanged.

  • You can update the Target Date for a single goal within the care plan by clicking edit for the goal you want to change. This only changes the Target Date of the specific goal you edit. The Next Review Date for the Care Plan remains unchanged.
