Managing Weights and Vitals Warnings and Exceptions

Weights and Vitals exceptions show comparisons between all recorded values on the weights and vitals tab. Weights, oxygen saturation, blood sugar, and pain levels are checked against resident-specific baselines and thresholds set in the system. If values exceed thresholds and baselines set, warnings and exceptions appear on the resident chart and Weights and Vitals portal.

Regularly managing warnings and exceptions is important to ensure appropriate follow up takes place as needed. For example, re-weighs, continued monitoring of vitals, and progress note documentation completed if clinically appropriate.

Note

It is recommended to regularly select 'prog note' to document additional information on warnings, as needed.

To Complete a Progress Note:

  1. Clinical > Weights and Vitals.

  2. Click prog note next to the appropriate exception. Acknowledge warning.

    Note

The exception is cleared immediately when you click OK.

  3. After exception details appear, type additional information.
