Printing MDS 2.0

You can print the MDS assessment record, as well as other components that are important to the MDS record (Outcome Summary Report, Audit Report and any errors/warnings generated with the record).

From the areas of the MDS module where you see the option to Print, you can select from a variety of reporting options as indicated below:

  • MDS Assessment

    • Opens a printable view of the MDS assessment record and responses entered.

  • Section V

    • Opens a printable view of Section V of the MDS including the Problem Area, If the problem was triggered, where the documentation on the problem is found, care planning decisions and Section V signature information.

  • CAPs/RAPs Triggers

    • Opens a printable view of all CAPs/RAPs triggered for:

      • Type (new, modified, existing)

      • Trigger Type

      • Location of CAP/RAP Documentation

      • Is the problem addressed in the Care Plan Y/N

      • Triggering elements per coding of the MDS record

      • CAP/RAP information entered into the CAP/RAP

      • Line for signature and date for each CAP/RAP

  • Outcome Summary Report

    • Opens a report of the various outcomes based on the MDS record coding including:

      • Resource Utilization Groups (RUG)

      • Case Mix Index (CMI)

      • Cognitive Performance Scale (CPS)

      • Depression Rating Scale (DRS)

      • Communication Scale (COMM)

        Note

        The Communication Scale is the sum of Making self understood (C4) and Ability to understand others (C6). The total ranges from 0-6, with higher values indicating difficulty with communication.

      • Pain Scale (PAIN)

      • Index of Social Engagement (ISE)

      • Activities of Daily Living Short Form Scale (ADL Short)

      • Activities of Daily Living Long Form Scale (ADL Long)

      • Activities of Daily Living Self Performance Hierarchy (ADL Self)

      • Changes in Health, End-Stage Disease Signs and Symptom Scale (CHESS)

      • Aggressive Behaviour Scale (ABS)

      • Personal Severity Index (PSI)

      • Pressure Ulcer Risk Scale (PURS)

        Note

        The PURS score is calculated using the current assessment and the assessment in the previous fiscal quarter. If the resident does not have an assessment in the previous fiscal quarter, the PURS score shows as Missing for the current assessment.

    • Opens a listing of the CAPs/RAPs and whether they were triggered, Addressed in the Care Plan, and the Location of Documentation.

    • Opens a listing of Quality Indicators and Quality Measures triggered.

    • Opens a listing of the 'New' Quality Indicators and Quality Measures triggered.

  • Note Report

    • Opens a listing of all notes entered for that MDS record.

  • Warnings Report

    • Opens a listing of all warnings triggered by that MDS record, who acknowledged the warning, and the date and time of acknowledgement.

  • Audit Report

    • Opens to select to Filter the Audit Report by:

      • Section

      • Show Changed Responses Only 

      • Assessments Edited by User 

    • Opens a listing of all MDS Questions based on filter options selected, shows the Question Key, Item Value, Revision Date, Username who changed, and their Position.

  1. Click Print from the MDS module.

  2. Select from the print options.

  • Quality Indicators and Quality Measures only appear for any triggered after the assessment is completed and locked.

  • Each option selected for printing opens in a separate window in your browser.

  • The print options only show data for the current MDS record for which you're printing from.

  • Options differ depending on the MDS record type (Admission, Facesheet, and so on.)
