Linking Progress Notes For Follow Up

You can link an existing progress note to a new progress note for follow up. Linking progress notes allows you to view, print, or report progress notes together.

Linking progress notes for follow up allows you to document follow up on previously created progress notes. You can also link similar progress note types together for ease of searching and reporting. For example, infection, diet changes, or falls.  

  1. Clinical > Resident > Prog Notes.

  2. To link progress notes for follow up, do one of the following:

    • Follow up from existing progress note:

      • Click View next to the progress note for follow up.

      • Click Follow Up.

    • Link from a new Progress note:

      • Select Type and Select Search to find note to link. Click Search.

      • Select Effective Date, Type, and Author. 

      • Click note description to link progress notes.

  3. Complete the note as required.

  • Progress notes that are linked to other progress notes appear with a link.

  • To view all history of linked follow up progress notes, click View next to the progress note to be reviewed. Click the View All link.
