New General Conversations

General Conversations are Secure Conversations without needing to select a resident name. General Conversations can be started from within the Home > My Conversations area or the quick link icon in the username header area. If you have security permission to start a General Conversation, you see the option when clicking to start a New conversation.

  1. Do one of the following: 

    • From Home > My Conversations > New.

    • From Quick Link icon by username > + New.

    • Hover over New and click General Conversation.

  2. Enter Subject.

  3. Enter Participant(s) names and select the participants you want to receive this message.

  4. Click Start Conversation.

  5. Enter message.

  6. Click Send.

  7. Click X to close, - to minimize the conversation window. All selected Participant(s) receive the message(s).

  • The Participant must have access to the type of conversation you are starting, an error message is received when attempting to Start Conversation. Participants can also include user groups.

  • To join an existing conversation select the join conversation link.

  • When entering Subject, avoid including PHI as notifications on mobile devices can include the Subject line.

  • Photos sent in the conversation are viewable by participants based on security.

  • There is a maximum of 500 characters in each message sent. If a message is more than 500 characters, the text is cut off.

  • Typing '%%%' in the Participant(s) field shows the first twenty Participants that can be added to the conversation.

  • You must have appropriate security permissions to create General Conversations.
