Resident Stay Record 

The Resident Stay Record is a single record constructed at the resident level to delineate unique stays in a facility and outline characteristics of the stay from the point of admission through discharge for the resident. A resident may have one to many Resident Stay Records depending on their activity into and out of the facility.

The primary data source for the Resident Stay Record is census. All of the specific data sources that are used include:

  • Census detail including resident details, physician information, and payer information.

  • eINTERACT Transfer Log - if enabled by the facility.

  •  Diagnosis detail.

Within the Resident Stay Record, an admission is defined as a census record with an action type equal to admission or return from leave. Likewise, a discharge is defined as a census record with an action type equal to leave, death, or discharge.
