Creating Outpatient Setup

When an Outpatient Payer is created and enabled in your facility, you see the Outpatient view within your Resident Listing. 

You can create Outpatient census entries to track Active and Inactive Outpatient Residents after Outpatient Setup is enabled. 

This process consists of multiple steps. 

Allow Outpatients in Setup 

  • Do the following: 

    • Admin > Setup > AR Configuration

    • Select Allow Outpatients  and Save.

Create the Outpatient Payer 

  1. Do one of the following: 

    • Single facility: Admin > Setup > Payers

    • Multi-facility: Management Console > Standards > Financial Management > Payers

  2. Payer Type - Select  Outpatient.

  3. Outpatient Pay Source  - Select  Private.

  4. Select facilities link to enable Payer.

  5. Navigate to the facility level: Admin > Setup > Payers > Activate the new Payer.

 Create Start Date 

  • Do the following: 

    • Admin> Setup > Payer Rules & Rate Schedules

    • Select the Payer - Outpatient

  • In the Resident Census  entry under Payer Options, you can use the Payer Setup file to complete the billing for more than one Payer.
