Linking Progress Notes to Care Plan or Tasks

You can link progress notes to specific items in a care plan or the Tasks tab. Progress notes can be linked to existing care plan or task items. Progress notes can also be linked to new items, which sends a trigger to either the care plan or Tasks tab of the resident chart. 

Linking progress notes to specific care plan items or tasks allows you to immediately address the resident care plan or tasks in one step. 

  1. Clinical > Resident > Prog Notes.

  2. Click New > select Type.

  3. Click Search next to Care Plan Item or Task.

  4. Click Focus, Goal, Intervention or Task.

    • Focus

      1. Select a focus from the Resident's Care Plan Focuses or select Show Care Plan Library Focuses and complete the next step.

      2. Select Library > select Focus Category > click the focus.

    • Goal 

      1. Select a goal from the Resident's Care Plan Goals or select Show Care Plan Library Goals and complete the next step.

      2. Select Library > select Focus Category > select focus > click the goal.  

    • Intervention

      1. Select an intervention from the Resident's Care Plan Interventions or select Show Care Plan Library Interventions and complete the next step. 

      2. Select Library > select Focus Category > select focus > click the intervention.

    • Task

      1. Select a task from the Resident's Tasks or Show Task Library and complete the next step.

      2. Select Library > click the task.

  5. Complete the remaining progress note fields as required.

  • When viewing a progress note, you can see the associated care plan item or task.
