Managing the Diagnosis Library

The Diagnosis Library consists of diagnosis codes and descriptions, based on the World Health Organization's International Classification of Diseases (ICD).

You are not permitted to modify the Code or Long Description of diagnoses. However, you can improve search capability by customizing the Full Description (for example, adding acronyms), and including the diagnosis on the Hotlist. It is recommended to add/remove diagnoses to the hotlist to assist staff in easy selection of diagnoses in resident charts.

Note

Although you can add a new diagnosis to the library, it is not recommended because the diagnosis is removed when the library is updated.

  1. Do one of the following: 

    • Single facility: Clinical > Setup > Diagnosis Library.

    • Multi-facility: Management Console > Standards > Care Management > Diagnosis Library.
