Importing Market Rates

You can maintain Market Rates in a file on your computer and then import Market Rates into PointClickCare to apply across all residents in all facilities in Payer Rules and Rate Schedules. Import results can be reviewed and then updated by re-importing the file or importing another file to add or update room rates.

  1. Click Import File.

  2. Click Choose File and browse on your computer to locate the file.

  3. Double-click the file name to link it to the Import.

  4. Enter the Effective From date that is on or after the facility go-live date.

  • Click Specifications to view the data and parameters required in the import file.

  • One room number can have more than one room rate associate with it. This is done by mapping the room number to a room type in Admin > Setup > Room Listing. The room type is then mapped to rate types in EMC > Standards > Financial > Room/Rate Type Relationships. You can view the Room/Rate Type Relationships in Admin > Setup > Room/Rate Type Relationships.

  • In a multi-facility database, you can view Market Rates Management at the facility level, but import can only be performed at EMC.

  • Import files must be in csv or txt format.

  • If the system cannot match the Facility Code and Cost Center Code in the import file to those in Admin > Setup > A/R Configuration, then the import fails and no import record is created.

  • At least 1 rate, daily or monthly, must be included in the import file for each room transaction line.

  • You can import both a Daily and a Monthly rate for one living unit.

  • A room/living unit can be listed on multiple lines, one time for each rate type that is mapped in Rate/Rate Type Relationship.

  • Import logic identifies duplicate lines items where the facility code, cost center code: room number, and rate type are the same. The first line imports successfully and the second line triggers an error message.

  • You can include multiple facilities in 1 file.

  • You can perform multiple imports for the same date range.

  • You can import new rates with an Effective From date that is during the date range of an existing, accepted rate line.
