Importing the Order Template Library

A PointClickCare representative can import a large list of pre-defined order templates into your organization. This pre-defined list includes commonly used pharmacy orders in senior care environments. After the import is completed by a PointClickCare representative, there is an impact to both imported and existing Order Templates as well as the Order Template Library listing.

PointClickCare must import these order templates to your organization.

Warning

Order Templates contain both controlled and non-controlled substances. These templates can be marked ‘Available for Mobile’, however controlled substances do not appear in the Practitioner Engagement mobile app until the ePrescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) is available and configured. 

Below is a list of the changes visible in the Order Template Library.

  • System Template  - identifies whether the template is a system defined order template.

  • Available for Mobile - identifies whether the template is available from the Practitioner Engagement Mobile app for order entry (if available).

  • Available for Web App - identifies whether the template is available from the Orders tab of the resident chart for order entry

Newly imported Order Templates

  • Imported in Active status and need to be Published before these templates are visible for selection from the Orders tab or the Practitioner Engagement mobile app.

  • Multi-facility: These order templates are not available in any facility until they are assigned from the Management Console > Care Management > Order Template Library, click the facilities link next to each template to assign facilities. You can batch activate facilities by clicking Batch Update > Facility Activate/De-Activate Templates.

Existing and New Order Templates

  • Remain unchanged and continue to be edited, copied, published, deleted, and retired as before.

  • If applicable, must be edited to select 'available in mobile app' if Practitioner Engagement mobile app is enabled.

  • Any new order templates now require a selection of ‘available in mobile app’, ‘available in web app’ or both (if available).
