Entering Previous Bed Hold/LOA Days Used

Bed hold or leave of absence (LOA) days are the days a resident is not active in a facility. You can set requirements such as a maximum days per period a resident can use. Or, your facility may have requirements on the maximum consecutive days a resident can be on leave. You enter the previous bed hold/LOA days used to avoid exceeding the maximum days allowed.

Leave days for the current facility are tracked through a census entry. The previous bed hold/LOA days add to the current bed hold/LOA days. This creates a warning in census notifying you of the exhaust date. You can also use the Bed Hold Days Remaining dashboard and report to monitor previous days, used days, and remaining days.

Note

You must enter a bed hold warning value in A/R Configuration to see the exhaust date in census.

  1.  Admin > Resident Chart > A/R Profile > Previous Bed Hold/LOA Days Used.

  • Start of Leave - Select option.

    • Select the date the leave period started.

  • Rule - Select option.

  • Days Previously Used - Enter days.

    • Enter the number of days used outside of your facility.
