Creating and Managing Menu Entry Screen Content

You can build your menus by adding menu items to the courses for your regular menu. You can select from existing menu items or create new menu items to add. Menu Items are automatically added to all therapeutic menus if the menu item is suitable for both the texture and special diet(s). You can add Every Day menu items and menu items that are served at all three meals to make meal ordering more efficient and provide additional choices for your residents at meal time.

  1. Menus > Menu Builder > Display Menu.

  • Week of Menu - Select the week where you want to add the menu items.

  • Menu Days - Select the day where you want to add the menu items. Select Every Day for menu items that are available everyday. For example, coffee and tea or scrambled eggs at breakfast.

  • Meal List - Select the meal where you want to add the menu items. Select All Meals for menu items that are available at all meals. For example, specific beverages and condiments.

  • Meal Courses - Select the course where you want to add the menu items. Select Show All to see all courses in the menu entry screen.

  • Free Text Box - Type in the name of the menu item and select from the list to add to the meal course.

  • Magnifying Glass - Click on the magnifying glass to open the Add Menu Items screen. Search for the menu item and click Select to add to the meal course.

  • Create New - You can create a new menu item to add to the meal course. See Creating and Managing Menu items for more information.

  • Click the Legend button for a definition of all the icons.

  • You can make a menu item a main choice by clicking on the yellow circle. An M symbol appears next to the menu item.

  • If a menu item is not suitable for a specific therapeutic menu, a replacement menu item needs to be added to the therapeutic menu. See Creating and Managing Therapeutic Menus for more information.

  • You can change the print group by clicking on the print group icon next to the menu item. This changes which print group the menu item prints on the meal ticket for this instance in the menu. To edit default print group, you need to edit Menu Item Details.

  • You can click on the menu item to open the Menu Item Details page to make changes to the menu item and allergy, special diet, and texture.

  • You can move your menu items in the course by clicking, dragging, and dropping.

  • You can portion adjust a menu item by clicking on the portion adjustment icon.
