Updating Supplies already Linked to Orders

If a medication/supply is incorrectly linked to a resident's order, that supply needs to be unlinked from the order. This is so that it can be linked to the correct order, or returned to pharmacy.

Note

If multiple orders are linked to a single supply, when you discontinue one of the linked orders only that order is discontinued. You can select additional linked orders to be discontinued. If none are selected, all linked orders remain in the current status on the resident’s chart.

  1. To open the supply details for that order, select the +, next to the correct order on the order list from the Orders tab of the resident's chart.

  2. Under the Supply Heading, locate the Supply/Medication column. The supply that was linked to this order appears here as a link. Select Supply Description.

  3. Review the supply received from pharmacy information at the top of the window that appears. The Resident Orders appear in the lower portion of the window that appears. The order that is currently linked to the supply is selected. Clear the linked order.

  4. Select Update Linked Order at the bottom of the window that appears. You return to the resident order list.

  5. Click the + to the left of that order, and note that the order appears in the Supply/Medication column without a link. The order is now unlinked from that supply.

  6. The supply status is again 'On Order' and the mrcv link appears in the Supply column.

  • The supply can be found in the Waiting to be Received tab of the Pharmacy view of the Orders Portal. Either electronically receive, mark for follow up, or mark for return to pharmacy.
