Managing Portion Adjustments

You can adjust the serving size of a menu item for either the Regular menu or a Therapeutic Menu. For example, ½ a muffin for the Controlled Carbohydrate diet. Portion adjusting can be a big time saver versus having to create numerous versions of one menu item with different portion sizes. You can portion adjust for one Therapeutic Menu at a time, or for multiple Therapeutic Menus.

  1. Menus > Menu Builder > Display Menu.

  2. Click Therapeutic Spread next to menu item.

  3. Click portion adjustment icon for a therapeutic menu.

  4. Select desired portion adjustment.

  • You can portion adjust a single menu item by clicking the portion adjustment icon.

  • Clicking the One portion option returns the menu item to its original serving size.

  • If a Menu Item portion adjustment is not 1/2, 1-1/2, or double, a new Menu Item in the desired portion size has to be created.

    • For example, the Regular Menu gets 4 oz of Baked Chicken and Renal gets 3 oz. Since 3 oz is not half of 4 oz, it is advised that a 3 oz Baked Chicken menu item be created and used instead of the portion adjustment feature.
