The MDS portal allows for RAI-MDS 2.0 management and submission of assessments. You can view scheduled, in progress, completed, exported, and accepted MDS assessments, and create batches for submission to CIHI or your Health Authority. You must have appropriate security permissions to access all views. You can set any of the views to the Default view for the MDS portal.
Hover over Clinical.
Select MDS from the Care Management list to open the MDS Portal.
The following views are available within the MDS portal:
Batches - Allows the RAI/MDS Coordinator to batch the MDS assessments with a status of Export Ready, or Exported. These batches can be submitted to CIHI, or your Health Authority. With the Batches view, you can see an MDS Summary section, create a Contact Information record for submission, and create, export, and record results for batches.
Scheduled - Allows the RAI/MDS Coordinator to view upcoming and overdue MDS assessments based on admission/re-admission census entries. It shows the Next Comprehensive (Admission Full or Annual) assessment due, as well as the next Quarterly assessment due, based on configuration settings. From this view a scheduled assessment can be started by clicking the link for the assessment. This view also allows for clearing or recalculating schedules for a resident if necessary.
In Progress - Lists all MDS assessments that are currently open and not yet completed. This view shows all of the currently Unsigned Sections to provide a snapshot of the remaining sections of the MDS requiring completion. From this view you can enter into the MDS to make changes and complete. For more information, see MDS 2.0 - MDS Portal - In Progress Assessments.
Export Ready - Shows all of the completed MDS assessments that are ready to be added to a batch for submission. Export Ready status assessments are signed and locked. These assessments, along with Exported assessments, can be added to batches for submission.
Exported - Shows all MDS assessments that are part of a batch that are exported.
Accepted - Shows all MDS assessments that are submitted and marked as Accepted within the batch. It also shows MDS assessments that are closed ('Incomplete'), corrected ('Modified') and deleted ('Inactivated').
AIS - Allows access to RAI-MDS 2.0 education materials. These materials can also be accessed from within a section of the MDS by clicking the Education button. The AIS view and Education button are only available if your facility has an AIS subscription, and it is configured in MDS Configuration by a PointClickCare representative.
IAR - Shows the MDS records that were electronically submitted to the Integrated Assessment Record but were not successful in their transmission. These records can be resubmitted as needed. Ontario facilities may see the IAR view; other provinces do not see this view.
To set a default view, you must be in the view that you want as your default view. When you enter the MDS portal, click Set as My Default View.
