Supplementary Documentation

From within each order of any type or schedule, sometimes you require supplementary documentation to be added with each order administration. By adding Supplementary Documentation to orders, clinician is prompted to document additional information, aside from the order administration information.

  1. orders, Scheduling Details > Supplementary Documentation > Add.

  2. Select documentation under the Weights and Vitals, or Standard Prompt areas. These areas are where clinicians are prompted to document upon administration of the order. Or you can select to add a Custom Prompt for a clinician to enter additional information, enter a description up to 5 characters, and enter a long description up to 50 characters. Click Add.

  3. Click Update. Supplementary Documentation added now appears as a link.

  4. Click linked information to make changes to the Supplementary Documentation.

  • Supplementary documentation is not required for any order.

  • Supplementary documentations may already be a part of Order Templates.

  • The option for measuring pain level during the time of administration is added in the Supplementary Documentation Weight, Vitals, and Lab Prompts under the Weights and Vitals sections. The system checks the Pain Level prompt when orders for a medication from the following drug classes are created for a resident. You can select/clear Pain Level prompts if you want.

    • Analgesics - Anti-Inflammatory.

    • Analgesics- Non-Controlled drugs.

    • Analgesic- Opioid.

    • Corticosteroids.

  • When you enter a medication that is not one of the predefined pain medication classes, enter all applicable order information, fill out scheduling details, and click add under supplementary documentation. You can select to include Pain Level to add that information to the order.
